An inspiring hub of creativity and exquisite taste has blossomed at the heart of the former Palace Hotel on the Bund.
Since opening last November, The Swatch Art Peace Hotel hosts an ever-changing group of local and international artists and is also home to exclusive boutiques, fine dining, a stunning rooftop terrace and a boutique hotel set to open in the next few months.
Well known for their artist collaborations, The Swatch Group continues to harbour creative talent and the exchange of ideas with this new project by inviting artists around the world to apply for their artist residencies.
With two floors dedicated to visiting artists, light filled workshops, rooms and communal spaces provide an open and stimulating work environment as well as a comfortable home away from home.
The beautiful and purposeful interiors were envisioned and brought to life by Paris based designers Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku. Original features like the exposed brickwork, grand wooden staircase and concrete floors have been left intact, whilst new and innovative details have been added to provide functionality and flexibility for the artists to setup each space according to their needs.
Stylish custom designed furniture complement the spacious interiors, as does the growing collection of original artwork, each a gift and unique mark left behind by the artists.
The striking architectural features of the former Palace Ballroom on the ground floor has been restored to its former glory, now an exquisite setting for four Swatch Group brand boutiques (Breguet, Blancpain, Omega and Swatch). A gallery on the first floor hosts regular exhibitions, whilst venturing higher, you’ll find modern Asian fusion restaurant Shook! and a stunning rooftop terrace offering first-class views across the Bund. With the boutique hotel to open in the near future, we can’t wait to see it unveiled!
