The Hatton Hotel

An exquisite gallery of unique treasures from around Australia and abroad, The Hatton Hotel is a rare gem in Melbourne’s boutique hotel scene.

With a history spanning over a century, the building which houses The Hatton today was first built as a guesthouse in 1902. Fast-forward 98 years and a grand refurbishment under the guidance of owners Lynnette Hatton, and her two sons—the Italianate period hotel is now a stunning re-invention, with sky high ceilings, plump balustrades, rosettes, and stain glass windows.

The cosy interiors are lovingly adorned with antique furnishings and artworks from Asia, Europe and Australia—each object holding its own special significance to the family, many collected on their travels or a precious gift from loved ones. These elegant compositions create a harmonious atmosphere and personal touch across each of The Hatton’s unique rooms, hallways and stairwells.

Rendezvous in the Front Lounge for breakfast or a glass of wine, or up on the hotel’s rooftop for prime views of the city skyline. The Hatton also houses a flexible Meeting Room popular for fashion presentations and intimate scale events.

With the city and shopping mecca, Chapel Street only five minutes away by tram, and the beautiful surrounds of the Royal Botanical Gardens a mere stroll down the road, the location couldn’t be more idyllic.

Genuine, warm and sophisticated, The Hatton is a destination many return to, and a destination waiting for you to discover.
